Our Residences
CHaMP partners with cultural and educational organizations to bring rich, hands-on residency experiences into the classroom. These programs give children meaningful opportunities to explore, create, celebrate culture, and connect their learning to the world around them.
Bitty City Players offers workshops and in-school field trip experiences designed around 3-K and Pre-K Creative Curriculum units of study. Through play, movement, collaboration, and hands-on exploration, children strengthen problem-solving, literacy, math, science, creativity, and social-emotional skills. These experiences help children connect classroom learning to real ideas in active, joyful, and meaningful ways.
Mad Science offers hands-on, curriculum-connected workshops that spark curiosity and make science exciting for young children. Led by trained instructors, these interactive sessions encourage children to observe, ask questions, make predictions, and explore new ideas. Children get to experience science in a way that feels playful, memorable,
and full of wonder.
Musical IQ brings culturally rich, interactive drumming and world music experiences to our young learners. Through rhythm, movement, and shared music-making, children build listening skills, coordination, focus, and confidence. These experiences also support culturally responsive learning by helping children celebrate music, traditions, and sounds from around the world.
Midori & Friends adds another joyful layer to our music experiences through songs, instruments, listening activities, and creative expression. Children build language, memory, focus, and confidence as they explore rhythm, melody, and movement. Music
becomes a meaningful way for children to express themselves, connect with others, and experience the cultures and communities around them.
The Nature Company invites children to explore the natural world through hands-on science and animal experiences. These visits connect naturally to our classroom studies as children observe, ask questions, make predictions, and talk about what they notice. Along the way, children develop empathy, responsibility, and respect for living things.
WonderSparks Puppet Theater and Shadow Box Theatre bring storytelling, puppetry, music, and performance to life in ways that capture children’s imagination and support listening comprehension, a precursor to reading comprehension. Through
characters, stories, and interactive experiences, children strengthen language, listening, comprehension, and creative thinking. Puppetry also supports social-emotional growth, by helping children explore feelings, friendships, problem-solving, and different points of view.
Cosmic IQ gives children an exciting way to explore space, science, and the world beyond their everyday surroundings through a mobile planetarium experience. This residency encourages children to wonder, observe, ask questions, and use new vocabulary as they build early science thinking. It also connects to our studies by helping children learn through exploration, conversation, and shared discovery.
